ABOUT FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
Franklin County CBCF is a prison diversion program intended to reduce recidivism and increase public safety.
Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment designed to change offender behavior through individualized
programming and cognitive restructuring. The Franklin County CBCF is a 180-bed facility that houses adult male offenders (referred to as “residents”) for a maximum of 180 days. The CBCF believes community safety is of upmost importance. Second is targeting residents’ criminogenic needs via intense cognitive behavioral programming in an effort to reduce their likelihood of recidivating.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for CBCF operations in the absence of higher-level supervisors/managers/administrators. Ensures facility and residents are safe and secure on a 24-hour basis. Ensures facility is maintained according to applicable laws and facility policies and procedures; compliant with governing standards; and audit ready at all times. Recognizes abnormal conditions and takes appropriate action. Monitors and/or conducts security measures, as necessary, and directly supervises the Resident Advisors.
Works in conjunction with Leadership Staff to ensure residents’ needs are met. Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel and meets regularly with assigned staff to provide coaching, training and feedback. Participates in training new staff, prepares reports, updates logs, and maintains records. Coordinates residents’ itineraries, transportation, and appointments outside the facility. Develops and maintains professional and effective working relationships with assigned staff, residents, co-workers, contractors, volunteers, members of the leadership team, and the general public. Works under stressful conditions. Promotes responsible and pro-social behavior throughout the facility.
12 hour shifts
Alternating biweekly schedule
Position is subject to mandatory overtime and requires weeknight and weekend availability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, and reaching with hands and arms. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have ability to operate office equipment. Must be sufficiently ambulatory to complete and conduct necessary security protocol.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have proficient computer skills. High school diploma required. Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Two (2) years of experience in corrections required. One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred. Must have good interpersonal skills and good oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures a plus. Must possess valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record.

WORK HOURS: 12 hour shifts; 5:30 am-5:30 pm or 5:30 pm-5:30 am; evenings and weekends required; subject to mandation.
