Description
Under general supervision from the Construction Services Engineer, oversees project personnel in the field to include FCE employees and consultants, acts as project engineer in charge of major road, bridge, and drainage improvements; checks contractors' compliance with plans and specifications, etc.; must become and remain knowledgeable of FCE standards.
Coordinates contractors' claims, construction contract changes, EEO and DBE compliance, construction questions from public, environmental permits and compliance, certificate of Liability Insurance tracking, and project finalization.
Sets up pre-construction meetings; attends project-related meetings; reviews RFI's, schedules, and material submittals; closely monitors the progress of all construction projects and visits each jobsite multiple times per week; reviews daily diaries, pay estimates, and documentation; prepares notes for weekly Project Status meetings; monitors as-built drawings for each project and verifies that plan changes are being documented.
Acts as engineering liaison between construction division and maintenance, bridge, design, and mobility engineering divisions; performs other related duties as assigned.
State of Ohio P.E. (Professional Engineer) license required.

Vacation leave is provided to all non-seasonal employees based on their years of service.
Sick leave is provided to all non-seasonal employees, with full-time employees earning approximately 15 days per year.
Full-time, non-seasonal employees receive 40 hours of Personal leave each year that must be used during the year or forfeited.
