WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC
Our Rehabilitation Technicians assist the Therapists and Therapist Assistants in performing rehabilitative services for our patients. Along with that, the Patient Services Representative aspect of this role involves promoting a positive experience for patients in our Rehabilitation Services Clinic. More specifically, some of these vital responsibilities include:
- Preparing treatment areas and transporting and positioning patients
- Assisting with the completion of therapy treatment plans
- Communicating with patients, families, friends, and members of the healthcare team to promote optimal benefits of rehabilitative care
- Ensuring that needed supplies are available to Therapists and Therapist Assistants
- Actively participating in ways to improve the program, including providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to the cost-effectiveness of services, and establishing and maintaining positive relations with all clients
- Assisting patients with the check-in process
- Escorting patients to the right treatment areas
- Performing routine clerical tasks that support the patient care process
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Rehabilitation Technician Training and Competency Program
- Prior healthcare experience or current Therapy student preferred
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, in English
- Basic mathematical skills to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to work cooperatively with team members and patients/clients
- Basic computer literacy
Essential Job Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hand and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
- Frequently able to move, push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
- Must maintain an environment conducive to safety for staff, patients/clients, and visitors
- Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
- Must wear PPE as situations require
Work Environment:
- FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
- Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
- Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
