Description


The Divisional HR Manager for our business unit will play a critical role in supporting the strategic goals of the business unit leader and ensuring the successful implementation of corporate human resources projects. This position requires a dynamic and experienced HR professional with strong business partnering experience and the ability to act as the voice of the business unit within the broader corporate HR framework.


Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with the business unit leader to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on HR-related matters to ensure the business unit's goals are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to support data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Oversee HR functions across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the business unit and corporate HR for the rollout of HR projects and initiatives.
  • Communicate corporate HR policies and procedures to the business unit, ensuring clear understanding and compliance.
  • Stays current on recent federal, state, and case law changes and monitors labor law updates and newsletters for changes that affect human resources.
  • Prepares, recommends, and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data.
  • Manages labor relations, provides advice, and counsels on personnel issues.
  • Administers classification programs, which includes classifying and reclassifying positions and ensuring employees have accurate job descriptions.
  • Directs benefits administration, enrollment, and open enrollment meetings.
  • Coordinates recruitment efforts with hiring managers, coordinates interviews, interviews, and assists with the final decision process.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise


Skills and Abilities
  • Understands relevant laws affecting human resources and payroll, including but not limited to safety, medical and military leave, payroll, HIPAA, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business and personal information.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Provides accurate work on a consistent basis.
  • Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR management software.
  • Willingness to travel to supported locations as required.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field (required).
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in human resources, benefits, or a related field (required).
  • Three plus years in a Manager of Senior Human Resources role (required)
Computer Skills
  • Intermediate: Microsoft Office suite and human resource information systems (HRIS).
Certificates and Licenses
  • SPHR or GPHR (preferred).
