Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and safe working environment within the facility

Key Responsibilities

Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate maintenance functions.
Complete daily, weekly, monthly requirements of the cleaning checklist
Assists Maintenance with machinery repairs and projects when necessary.
Perform grounds upkeep and snow removal as required.
Perform minor building maintenance as required.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Skills and Abilities

Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.

Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.

Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.

Repair of plumbing, minor electrical and HVAC repairs.

Ability to perform cleaning duties both inside and outside facility as required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).

Six months or more experience working in a janitorial type position (preferred).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is :

o Continually required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.; stand.

o Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.; push or pull; walk.

o Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs.; sit; ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; turn wrenches, valves, or handles; bend or twist; use upper extremities; reach above shoulders; reach to full extension.

The employee must continually lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include regular peripheral viewing; viewing length changes; close viewing with depth perception; and occasional distance viewing.

Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the need to perceive the spoken voice clearly and the need to hear warning signals up to 70dbs with or without assistance.

Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.
