- Serve as representative or consultant for management at contract negotiations and consultation sessions with employee organizations. Actively represent or assist with management's position in mediation and fact-finding.
- Provide advisory service to management on all aspects of human resources and employee relations practices and procedures.
- Assist in drafting formal agreements between management and employee organizations, or employees.
- Process human resource information, including information on appointments, separations, promotions, increases or benefits into a database to facilitate the preparation of various subsequent processes.
- Assure accuracy of data entry and all human resource records. Prepare and maintain accurate staffing reports and projections as required by the District and NYSED.
- Handles inquiries from administrators throughout component and non-component Districts regarding staffing needs.
- Answer employee questions concerning various human resource transactions pursuant to the individual's collective bargaining agreement including payroll, benefits, leave of absence, and workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA, among others.
- Process information pertaining to various other human resources transactions including, but not limited to, onboarding new staff, civil service paperwork, recruiting, grievance handling, unemployment insurance, benefits programs, and workers compensation.
- Supervise, mentor and train new employees and departmental users on the use of human resources information systems and processes.
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including FLSA, IR.CA, ADA, FMLA, TITLE IX, COBRA, HIP AA among others.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to all human resources information and transactions.
- Attendance at Districts Board of Education Meetings may be required, Travel is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the goals and responsibilities of this position and as directed by the Director of Human Resources and his/her designee.
