Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. The Building Maintenance Technician performs work in multiple locations within the Chambersburg, PA area.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Starting Pay Rate will be evaluated based on experience.
Essential Job Duties:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests from leadership team in a timely manner.
- Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing dock plates and overhead doors, and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems including heater boxes, fans, plumbing, electrical, and water/sewer pump systems.
- Maintains documentation of inspections and problems.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinate and communicate with contractors/ vendors as required.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and protocols during all maintenance tasks.
- Snow removal and yard clean up.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Equipment operation: skid steer, pay loader, and other Non-CDL vehicle operations
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools (SAE) and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with field service operations and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification or Associates Degree with a focus on plumbing, drywall, electrical and wiring, or related field highly preferred.
- Experience in both commercial and residential maintenance preferred.
- Company specific on-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling and climbing.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift/ carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work at heights (on rooftops, operating scissor and boom lifts).
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions (outdoors and indoors).
- Must have physical stamina to handle extended shifts and physically demanding tasks.
