JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering care within his/her license and training to Clinic patients as outlined in approved care protocols and under the supervision of a licensed physician.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to: Behavioral Health Clinic Director
Positions Directly Supervised: None
Regular Contact with: All Rural Health personnel, Physicians, and the public.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of Louisiana with focus on Psychiatric nursing. Graduation from a state-certified advance practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health. Must possess an active BLS and ACLS certification.
Work Experience:
Experience Desirable But Not Required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Has exposure to blood borne pathogens.

- Familiar with medical terminology
- Proficient with computers and ability to learn computer software
- Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Position self to maintain files in file cabinets
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as computer printers, scanner, etc.
- Ability to observe details at close range
- Ability to move boxes, equipment, etc. up to 10 pounds across the office for various needs
