Die Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Die Room Technician is responsible for the basic and chief function of the Utility/Die Room Technician position is to oversee all activities associated with running the Die Room including setup, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. Other general duties include maintaining rag inventory and ordering, ink inventory and ordering, and parts related to cutting dies and/or print plates and including but not limited to making deliveries as needed by production scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

• Build and transport correct printing dies to production machines.

• Pick up all printing dies from production machines and return to die room after order is complete.

• Wash all dirty printing dies and return to designated locations.

• Complete all necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to production inventories.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety, quality, and maintaining good housekeeping.

• Cross-train on other machines.

• Complete necessary reports accurately and timely, including production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data.

• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

• Attend required training and/or meetings: safety, quality, and productivity

• Train assistant operators and others, as required, to achieve company objectives

• Actively participate in continuous improvement projects

• Communicate with other plant personnel to solve production problems as a team

• Record safety, quality, production and maintenance data on various paperwork and computers as required

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the entire facility

• Assist in packing product, as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while handling tooling and/or tooling parts and components.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office and be regularly exposed to the manufacturing environment.

• The noise level in the work environment will require PPE.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

• Build and transport correct tooling to production machines.

• Complete all necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to production inventories.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety, quality, and maintaining good housekeeping.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

• Must be able to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience

• Should be able to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

• Must be able to maintain good attendance and be willing to work overtime, as needed

• Must be flexible in working any shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
