What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Coach position at Franklin Northeast Supervisory Union?
The Franklin Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking an Instructional Coach for the 2025-2026 school year.The purpose of an instructional coaching model is to accelerate learning for all students by building teacher capacity through the implementation of effective instructional practices. Effective coaches are educators who serve in a leadership role, facilitating school reform and improving teacher effectiveness through co-planning, dialogue, questioning, data analysis, facilitation for examination of instructional practice, modeling, observation, and feedback.Essential Duties: Provide leadership in implementing initiatives through designing and facilitating professional learning.Facilitate inquiry-based collaboration in professional learning communities.Collaboratively observe and examine instructional practice with teachers in one-on-one and small group settings.Promote instructional improvement, provide resources, and support methods for effective implementation.Improve teacher data literacy and capacity to make data-based instructional decisions.Support teachers through co-planning, demonstrations, co-teaching, observation and debrief.May perform other duties as assigned.Our employees are offered a competitive benefits package. FNESU consists of six Elementary Schools, two Middle Schools, two High Schools, and one Technical Career Center.
FNESU serves approximately 1,950 students within our six towns. FNESU is situated in rural northwestern Vermont, which is the perfect setting for outdoor enthusiasts. We are located just 20 miles from Jay Peak Resort, 32 miles from Smuggler's Notch, and within driving distance to several other surrounding ski resorts. There are plenty of areas to hike, swim, cross-country ski, snowmobile, and mountain bike.
We are an hour away from Burlington and just an hour and a half from Montreal.
