JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent is accountable to the Pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy. Assist the Pharmacist in carrying out the activities of the Pharmacy department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the Pharmacist and fills stock replacements.
2. Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Director.
3. Assists in controlling stock, except controlled substances; pre-packages drugs; prepares stock solutions and written formulas; receives, signs and stores stock items; and assures that all are checked by the Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Director.
4. Helps maintain an orderly and clean environment within the department; including the cleanliness of pharmacy stock, supplies and equipment.
5. Monitors inventory and completes requisitions as needed.
6. Maintains files for prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders and requisitions.
7. Receives, inspects and verifies all credit returns.
8. Removes or recommends removal of unneeded, deteriorated or outdated drugs from stock. Prepares items for return or disposal.
9. Assist with monthly physical inventory.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
1. Establish and maintain patient accounts
2. Post charges, payments and adjustments
3. Prepare daily deposits
4. Reconcile daily receipts to daily reports
5. File and label prescription refills written by physicians
6. Assist Pharmacist with other housekeeping duties
7. Performs any other related duties as instructed by Pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician training program with minimum of one year work experience in related.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Pharmacy Technician certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
