What are the responsibilities and job description for the EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR - SPEECH PATHOLOGIST position at Franklin Public Schools?
As part of its special education programming, Extended School Year (ESY) Services are provided to eligible students. Franklin offers a number of ESY programs from preschool through high school. Extended School Year services are provided to students who meet one or more of the criteria for such services as outlined in special education law. Typically, eligible students require services because they have demonstrated or are likely to demonstrate substantial regression in his/her learning skills and/or substantial difficulty relearning such skills if an extended year program is not provided.
Responsibilities:
-plan and organize 1:1 and small group speech and language therapy for students with speech-language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and social-emotional and complex learning disabilities
-coordinate services with program lead teachers
-plan and facilitate structured social skill lessons
-communicate with parents
-write student progress reports at end of summer
Qualifications: DESE license required; experience with preschool and school-aged children with a
variety of disabilities
Hours: varied and flexible; July 7 – August 7, 2025*, between 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM M, T, W, TH
Compensation: $39.00/hour
