Summary
The Assistant Head of Middle School is a fulltime twelve (12) month position. This role is a key member of the middle school leadership team and fosters a positive student experience, manages discipline and the honor code, monitors social and academic student progress, and communicates expectations that help students mature and become responsible, productive community members. First and foremost, this leader should intentionally cultivate character and community among the students. The Assistant Head of MS will teach up to two classes, coach a sport, be an advisor, and report directly to the Head of Middle School.
Essential Functions
The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to :
Student Life
- Foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Partner with the MS Counselor to ensure smooth management of the advisory program, including creating the advisory groups.
- Meet regularly with the student activities coordinator and Grade Level Chairs (GLCs) to discuss student events and clubs.
- Monitor students' social, emotional, and academic progress to identify and address concerns.

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements typically involve frequent walking, standing, sitting at a desk,
occasional lifting of light items (up to 15 pounds), ability to navigate stairs and uneven terrain
on a school campus, and the need to occasionally bend or stoop, with most work being
performed in an office setting; essentially requiring good mobility and the ability to perform
basic physical tasks throughout the day. In compliance with ADA requirements, we will make
