Position Overview:
Franklin Square Market is seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team and oversee the procurement of goods and supplies for our store. This role is crucial to ensuring the store maintains an optimal inventory, competitive pricing, and quality products to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain processes, and a commitment to building and maintaining vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best quality products at competitive prices. Schedule and oversee in store product sampling.
Procurement: Plan, organize, and execute purchasing activities, ensuring an adequate supply of fresh produce, packaged goods, and other store items while minimizing overstock or shortages.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, sales trends, and seasonal demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to maximize profitability.
Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and implement cost saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Data Analysis: Use sales and purchasing data to forecast trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with store managers, department heads, and other staff to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Problem Resolution: Address issues with suppliers, deliveries, or product quality in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the grocery or restaurant industry.
Skills:
