Job Summary
The Grants Manager plays a pivotal role in the organization by overseeing the development and management of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Older Adults Home Modification Program (3 year grant).
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong research and technical writing skills, who can effectively communicate the organization’s mission and objectives to potential funders.
The Grants Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and other program staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with grant requirements.
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic planning for grant proposals and fundraising initiatives.
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Write, edit, and proofread grant proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with funder guidelines.
- Utilize Raiser’s Edge software for tracking grants, managing donor relationships, and reporting on fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Manage the contract process for awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Monitor grant deadlines and reporting requirements to ensure timely submissions.
- Provide training and support to staff on grant writing best practices and fundraising strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing, technical writing, and editing.
- Strong strategic planning abilities with a focus on organizational goals.
- Proficient in using Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management software.
- Excellent research skills to identify funding opportunities relevant to the organization’s mission.
- Ability to proofread documents meticulously for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information clearly.
- Experience in fundraising.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
