Are you passionate about food? Do you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our team and assist the executive chef with daily kitchen tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the executive chef in preparing and cooking specialized menu items using Frankly Pizza recipes.
- Plan and build new menu items/specials in collaboration with the executive chef.
- Ensure that ingredients are fresh, well-organized, and ready for use.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Train and mentor new and existing staff.
- Ensure that the kitchen is properly cleaned on a regular schedule, food is disposed of properly and the kitchen meets all sanitary standards.
- Keeping tabs on food cost, waste, and employee hours.
- Handle day to day inventory of prepped food, dry goods, and cooked foods and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by ordering all kitchen materials and restaurant supplies as needed
- Create and maintain schedule for kitchen staff.
- Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is labeled stored correctly.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including utensils, equipment, and workstations.
- Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen, preferably fine dining, is required.
- At least 5 years as sous chef or manager of a restaurant kitchen is required.
- Experience with classical French cooking techniques is a plus.
- Training and mentoring experience.
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
- The ability to apply industry best practices.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
- Passion for food, especially pizza, and a desire to learn.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Positive attitude, excellent communication, and a love for creating great food.
Salary : $62,000 - $65,000
