What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packer - Nights position at Frankston Packaging Company?

The position of Packer is hard work yet rewarding. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment requiring you to have excellent communication and organizational skills.

The purpose of the Packer's position is to inspect and pack finished product on the gluing line. The ultimate goal of this position is to prevent non-conforming product from reaching customers while packing finished product to meet schedule demands.

Essential Duties

  • Review job/order specifications (size, style, quantity, allowable over/under, general appearance expectations, packing cases)
  • Ensure that packing cases are staged and ready for use and that case labels are available for use
  • Review finished product as it reaches to packing station on the equipment. Remove product that is noted to have a defect
  • If defects are detected as a result of the gluing process, the Packer is responsible for stopping the equipment and alerting the Gluer Operator of the issue
  • The Packers are responsible for alerting Quality Assurance of quality issues and for obtaining direction for disposition of questionable product
  • The Packers are responsible for ensuring that finished cases contain the correct quantity and are appropriately labeled
  • May be required to assist in a variety of tasks related to the Finishing process
