Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Press Operator is responsible for operating progressive die press machines that are used to manufacture parts or products. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor the machine during operation to ensure that parts are being produced to quality standards.
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects or irregularities (e.g., improper dimensions, surface imperfections).
• Conduct routine checks and measurements using gauges, calipers, and other inspection tools to ensure product quality.
• May include adjustment of dies, molds and tools as needed to ensure proper operation.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance on press machines to keep them in good working order.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions or issues (e.g., jams, hydraulic issues).
• Report major machine failures or operational problems to supervisors or maintenance staff.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures to operate press equipment safely.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA).

Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any maintenance or repairs conducted.
• Report any safety concerns or hazards to supervisors immediately.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members, including quality control, maintenance, and supervisors, to meet production targets.
• Communicate any issues or adjustments to the production schedule to ensure efficient operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, machinery, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operator role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of press operation, machine setup, and maintenance. Ability to use measuring tools and equipment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and precision in manufacturing processes.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Communication: Good communication skills to work in teams and report issues clearly.
