We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Health Supervisor to join our team at Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC. This role involves supervising a team of skilled workers, maintaining high standards of quality, and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of landscape maintenance, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Maintain and irrigate plants, trees, and lawns to promote healthy growth.
- Lead and train team members in best practices
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for everyday operations.
- Develop schedules for team members to optimize productivity while meeting project deadlines.
- Manage Spray Crew
- Carry out applications timely and efficiently.
- Monitor progress and productivity.
- Monitor application rates.
- Process personnel needs.
- Maintain crew time sheets.
- Oversee correct equipment usage and operation.
- Minor service/repairs of equipment.
Maintain proper paperwork.
- Report all applications to the county.
- Post applications for workers.
- Record completed applications.
Oversee pesticide safety in all applications.
- Maintain PPE inventory.
- Maintain supply of PPE at all required locations.
- Maintain sign postings where needed.
Coordinate county inspections and applications.
Receive incoming pesticide deliveries.
Maintain weed control program.
- Monitor weed levels in the nursery.
- Monitor and carry out spot spraying needs.
- Coordinate pre-emergent applications with weeding crew.
Manage weeding crew
- Track and monitor progress
- Monitor labor requirements
- Develop and carry out efficient practices
- Process personnel needs.
Assist in research and development of production practices and plant health
- Carry out practical experiments.
- Monitor experiments
- Process experiment data.
- Evaluate effectiveness, generate final conclusions.
Skills
