The location of this position is flexible. The successful candidate can work fully remote; however, they must be currently residing within the United States on a permanent basis.
Job description:
Responsibilities will include business development of hedge fund and marketing to family offices, fund of funds, pension funds, endowments and major financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have five years plus hedge fund business development or marketing experience and the ability to travel to hedge fund conferences across the United States and abroad. The main focus of the business development team is an institutional client base. The applicant will assist in developing relationships with new investors, primarily for a quant fund.
Responsibilities will include supporting a comprehensive business development and marketing platform including:
- Plan and coordinate any on-site due diligence sessions in cooperation with client services.
- Develop language for use in RFP responses and assemble response data for both current and prospective clients and consultants.
- Project management to launch managed accounts for clients as needed in close cooperation with the operations team.
- Selling funds, alternatives products, mainly quant funds, to institutional investors.
- Sales focus on clients across the US, Europe, Asia and The Middle East (private banks, insurance companies, pension funds, retail names, family offices, wealth managers, etc.)
- Organizing initial investor meetings, road shows and attending industry events.
- Maintaining global calendar, interfacing with clients, maintaining a CRM database.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for performance and fund details.
- Create, maintain and update general marketing presentations and performance reports.
- Production of official responses to DDQs for institutional, fund of fund and consultant clients.
- Prepare responses to client, prospective client, and consultant inquiries with regards to Requests for Proposals.
Who we are looking for?
Experience:
- Five years plus experience in raising assets for hedge funds or CTAs either working directly for a hedge fund, CTA or third-party hedge fund marketing company, or potentially in a capital introduction team in a bank.
- An existing network of hedge fund or CTA investors is a prerequisite.
- The ability to understand complex hedge fund strategies and explain them to potential investors.
- High level of comfort preparing and leading client presentations.
- Down to Earth” sales execution style with the ability to engage and persuade others.
- Familiarity, appreciation and effective communication of quantitative trading strategies is required.
Skills:
- Fundamental understanding of the CTA or Hedge Fund industry.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong proofreading and attention to detail.
- Crisp and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with sales, service and product professionals.
- Ability to take ownership for large projects and work independently.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a time pressure environment.
- Proven team player who works hard, is both a team and individual contributor.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- MBA, CFA, CAIA or CHP desired.
- Active NFA Series 3 required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding customer service mindset.
- Significant degree of self-motivation, direction and integrity.
