What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dean of Students position at Frayser Community Schools?
The Dean of Students is primarily responsible for ensuring a positive, structured, and safe environment, character development, and behavioral growth for students at Frayser Community Schools. The Dean of Students also enforces the Anti-Racism Initiative and Student Code of Conduct. The Dean of Students coordinates school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (SWPBIS), meets with students regularly for mentorship, offer students correction and accountability necessary for personal growth, and collaborates/communicates with families often.
The Dean of Students is responsible for ensuring the culture of the school creates conditions that are conducive for effective teaching and learning. This position requires an organized and consistent educator with a concrete vision of progressive discipline, restorative practices, and the ability to build respectful relationships with families, students, and community partners; as well as, serve the school as a member of the administration team.
The Dean of Students will work directly with the Director of Student Support, Hall Monitors, Assistant Principals, and the school Principal; as well as, with the Restorative Practices Specialist, Professional School Counselor(s), School Social Workers, and Special Education Lead, as part of a team of practitioners to provide excellent service to our school community.
