Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking an Fabrication Welder to join our team. The Fabrication Welder at Frazer reports to the Fabrication Supervisor, and is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to meet project specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating welding equipment, and maintaining a high standard of quality and safety. The Fabrication Welder works collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals efficiently.

 

This position is expected to actively live out Frazer Core Values while working with Frazer employees, vendors, and customers to help achieve team, department, and corporate goals. Responsible for learning and reinforcing safe and proper work procedures while actively following Frazer Safety programs and other policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

 

What Does a Week in the Life of the Fabrication Welder Look Like?

  1. Weld metal components using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding based on project requirements.
  2. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  3. Ensure welds are clean, precise, and adhere to quality and safety standards.
  4. Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, or shaping metal using tools and equipment.
  5. Set up and adjust welding machines, including voltage and wire speed settings, for specific tasks.
  6. Align and inspect materials to ensure proper fit before welding.
  7. Perform visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  8. Test completed work for strength, durability, and accuracy, making corrections as needed.
  9. Proactively address material or weld defects to ensure high-quality results.
  10. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  11. Maintain accurate records of completed work and follow company documentation procedures.
  12. Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and welding codes (e.g., AWS, OSHA).

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 1–3 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with working on various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical documents.
  • Experience with welding equipment, grinders, saws, and measuring tools.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to precision in fabrication and assembly.

  • UKG (HRIS)

Oh, and $alary

Of course, we didn't forget the salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $22.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on education, certifications, and experience.

 

Work Schedule 

The Fabrication Welder will work Monday to Friday 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM. afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
