Industrial Maintenance Technician
Frazier Industrial Company is the leading manufacturer of Steel Racking Systems, with its headquarters located in Long Valley, NJ. The Maintenance Technician position is full time and based at our shop location in Waterloo, NY. The work schedule for this day shift position is Monday thru Thursday, 4:00am to 2:30pm. We are looking for experienced people who know how to work in a team environment that can provide high quality performance. Pay is commensurate with experience.
A. General Purpose of Job: The primary purpose of this job is to keep all equipment, and the facility in general, up and running and in good repair with scheduled preventative maintenance as necessary, while still being cost efficient. This employee impacts the profitability of the company by working efficiently, not wasting time on the job, not wasting materials, not breaking tools needlessly, and keeping the facility running so product gets out on schedule. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, but may receive work instructions for specific tasks from another supervisor. The employee must be able to successfully adhere to company policies, and maintain, repair, and work the following (this is not an exhaustive list):
1. Understands and demonstrates that: SAFETY, QUALITY and PRODUCTIVITY are priorities in all phases of our work.
2. Equipment: Repair and maintain fabrication equipment, welding equipment, painting equipment/filters, pallet racking and shelving, grinders and banding tools.
3. Repairs: Siding, roofing, lighting (light bulbs, etc.), leaks, plumbing (bathrooms: sinks, toilets, faucets), and cranes and hoists in the building.
4. Maintenance: Forklifts, manlifts, side loaders, hoists, cranes, chains, exhaust fans, welders including leads, jigs, roller frames, air compressors and air lines, gas lines, electrical and overhead doors. Must have ICE-IE-P.
Including required Preventative Maintenance documents.
5. Outdoor Maintenance: Sidewalks, snow removal as required and any other outdoor maintenance as signed by Plant Manager.
6. Files: Keep track of maintenance numbers, and keep a good filing system for maintenance repairs and costs.
7. The employee may hire outside subcontractors for jobs that are too large or too complex (plumbers, overhead door technicians, electricians, etc.) after approval by Plant Manager.
8. The employee may also help with moving office equipment, storage (building shelves, pallet racks, etc.)
9. The employee must have the ability to tear down equipment, inspect, analyze, repair, and assemble it to working order.
10. Completes required work-related documents, and submits them in a timely manner.
E. Performance Measures:
Employee must consistently represent the company in a professional manner.
2. Must meet productivity expectations of the company and supervisor by matching or beating target completion dates for assigned projects and/or tasks.
3. All required work documents and reports must be completed accurately and be submitted in a timely manner.
4. Consumption of tools must meet company standards to optimize the use of tools and minimize expense
5. Employee must not lose or destroy any company equipment.
6. In addition, the employee will also be measured on their judgment and decision making, relationship with others, planning and time utilization, initiative, attendance and reliability, rapport and communication with coworkers, and any other factors the management believes to be important.

G. Work Environment:

2. A work environment with occasional loud noises, such as grinding equipment, presses and ironworkers, is typical for this job 1/3 to 2/3 of the time. Specific job duties that are affected by the above environmental conditions are working near loud, moving mechanical parts/equipment.
H. Other requirements of the position:
1. General working knowledge of mechanics, electrical circuitry, and use of welding, metal working, and painting equipment. 2. Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals), language, and logic skills. 3. Ability to work quickly, correctly, cleanly, and effectively. 4. Basic understanding of the equipment used in the manufacturing processes at Frazier Industrial. 5. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. 6. Ability to read blueprints and job schematics. Reads and understands work-related documents (diagrams, blueprints, etc.)
