1) Fixture Shop and Design, alter and repair a variety of tools, carts, fixtures, and weld jigs
2) Perform machining of parts for more intricate work and other operations for higher grade Fabricators.
3) Position, tack up, weld structural material for benches, carts, tool framework, fixture repair, and lifting device repair.
4) Perform machine operations requiring a variety of regular and exacting set ups to maintain close tolerances.
5) Bench work involving filing, grinding, assembling, and adjusting to obtain satisfactory operations.
6) Perform welding that requires skill and knowledge of fabricating practices when required or assigned.
7) Interpreting and using drawings and blueprints.
8) Responsible for cost reductions as applicable to the area.
9) Machine or modify replacement parts as required.
10) Maintain necessary records.
11) Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervision.
12) Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
13) Follow all standard operating procedures and established practices and processes.
14) Perform other duties as required or directed by supervisor or management team.

- As a Fixture Fabricator the successful candidate will analyze specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair jigs and fixtures for production welded assemblies.
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts for fixtures and other assigned projects.
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
- Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
- Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, assist with monthly inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance technicians to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Performs Lockout/Tagout duties as required.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs simple electrical wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Efficiently and effectively operate double robot MIG weld cell by fitting parts to fixture and weld metal components as specified by the robotic weld fixtures and order of operations.
- Ensure parts are made or processed in accordance with instructions provided in a prompt manner and follows daily signal report for days work.
- Adjusting and setting Robotic Weld machine to specifications when required.
- Changes out welding gas cylinders as required.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Safely operate hoist and/or scissor lift as needed.
- Safely operates forklift as needed.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- Associate's degree (A. A.), Welder Certificate or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to read and understand tape measure and calipers.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to operate hand tools & air powered tools.
- Ability to operate hoist.
- Ability to operate forklift.
