The Family Urgent Response System (FURS) is a free 24 / 7 / 365 hotline for current and former foster youth and their caregivers to get immediate support from trauma- informed trained counselors for big or small challenges creating instability or threatening their current placement.
A local Mobile Response Team will be assigned to provide critical face-to-face support in home and / or community when needed.
Join our team as : Behavior Counselor What You Will Do The Behavior Counselor is active in supporting and implementing Family Urgent Response System (FURS) services, as part of the Mobile Response team (MRT), to foster youth and resource families experiencing challenging or crisis situations leading to instability.
Behavior Counselor will utilize trauma-informed, individualized, strengths-based, culturally responsive, family-centered approach to provide high quality intervention and / or case management.
The Behavioral Counselor is responsible for delivering services to participants and caregivers in their residence or community setting within 3 hours for urgent responses and within 24-hours for non-urgent responses.
The Behavior Counselor will be responsible for documentation of services; collaboration with other social services, Regional Center, educational or mental health professionals; and actively participating in group and individual supervision.
Shifts Available Full Time - Hourly; Mon-Fri / 8am-5pm Salary Range In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $22.55 and $28.78 per hour.
The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, child development, or related field.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a child welfare, probation, or behavioral health setting.
Bilingual (Spanish / English) able to read, write and speak English and Spanish proficiently.
Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of children, youth, or young adults.
Demonstrated understanding of child welfare systems.
Demonstrated ability to assess, triage and organize work.
Theoretical understanding or experience in behavioral approaches to treatment.
Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma informed care model.
Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
Clean driving record; current CA drivers license or ability to obtain within 10 days after hire.
Basic computer competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
Preferred Two (2) years experience in a child welfare, probation, or behavioral health setting.
Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis principles.
