Rising Oaks is a transitional housing program that provides housing and supportive services to 30 transition age youth (ages 18-25) who have aged out of the foster care and/or juvenile probation systems. The program has a multidisciplinary team and offers an array of supportive services to residents, including individual and group therapy, case management, educational and vocational coaching, and peer mentorship.

What You Will Do
Under supervision, provides high quality, day-to-day care, and supervision to participants at a residential or housing program to ensure well-being and development of participants while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment in accordance with program regulations and philosophy, Fred Finch (hereinafter FF) policies and procedures, and accreditation standards; and performs related duties as assigned

Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $22.55 and $28.78 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Knowledge of:
- Operations, services, and activities of a residential or housing program which encompasses counseling and support services to clients and/or their families.
- Techniques for supervising and providing high quality care to support clients in expressing their needs and advocating for themselves in a community living setting.
- Principles for planning and implementing age-appropriate recreational, skills-building, and community integration activities.
- Short- and long-term therapeutic methods including community-based interventions.
- Theories, principles, and techniques of group and individual counseling to identify and remediate cognitive, mental, and emotional issues in youth, children, and/or young adults.
- Current trends and research in the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health disorders.
- Principles of risk assessment and crisis intervention.
- Basic needs and challenges for individuals and/or families accessing behavioral health services, including cultural barriers.
- Social, emotional, and behavioral aspects of mental disorders and illness.
- Principles and practices of direct client service delivery.
- Principles of behavioral health education.
- Cultural, social, and environmental factors and influences affecting behavioral health.
- Development milestones of children, youth, or young adults.
- Community and governmental services and resources.
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as well as industry standards and best practices pertinent to the assigned area of responsibility, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- FF and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols
- Techniques for providing a high level of customer service, interacting, and effectively dealing with the public, community-based organizations and service providers, stakeholders, and Fred Finch staff.
- The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed.
- High School Diploma or GED
- One(1) year of providing support services or working in a residential or housing program with a similar population.
