Oakland Hills Academy at Fred Finch Youth and Family Services is a small non-public school serving students with varying disabilities including autism, specific learning disabilities and emotional disturbance. Small class size, full day therapeutic support in each classroom and a robust curriculum are included in what we offer our students. Located on a beautiful campus in the Oakland Hills, the school has a strong history of success and growth for students.

Join our team as : Special Education Teacher
What You Will Do
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for teaching students with disabilities and managing the classroom daily. Monitor all assigned youths' progress, assign and direct the work of the Instructional Aides, including on special projects; design and implement the class curriculum, and work with the School Director on helping each youth to meet his / her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals and other projects as needed.
Salary Range In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $33.03 and $42.15 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements) :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university required.
- Must have passed California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) OR hold a BA degree in Liberal Arts.
- Must meet one of the following criteria :
- Hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential, mild moderate or moderate severe OR Preliminary Level 1 Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- The candidate must have the exact credential, Level 1 or Clear.
- Be enrolled in an Internship Education Specialist Instruction Program and hold an Internship Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- Have an Emergency Substitute Permit, Substitute Permit, or other current teaching credential. This criteria is ONLY applicable if working in a Teacher capacity for 20 days or less.
