The Financial Coordinator ensures that all authorizations/certifications requirements are completed in accordance with the payer's criteria, in a timely manner, prior to services being rendered. Works with insurance companies on behalf of patients to determine coverage and benefit limits.
- Coordinates the resolution of insurance issues with other departments.
- Notifies and documents approvals for other departments and partner organizations.
- Answers insurance related questions from patients, schedulers, providers, and partner organizations.
- Address patient complaints and escalate as needed.
- Identifies potential risk issues and notifies supervisor or manager.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to summarize and explain complex concepts.
- Ability to empathize with patients and their families and have difficult conversations regarding financial matters.
- Proficient with email software systems.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
Preferred:
- Prefer experience with Electronic Medical Records, insurance company billing requirements, oncology financial clearance, MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and medical terminology.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $25.22 to $35.90 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
