Assistant Dispatcher - Fred Meyer Transportation

Position Summary:
Provide support to the distribution center's transportation department. Coordinates and dispatches over the road drivers. Minimum Position Qualifications:
• • Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate information to all contacts.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.

  • PC skills with a minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Essential Job Functions:
• • Understand and display the Customer 1 st Strategy at all times.

  • Understand the processing and execution of orders, setting up equipment, drivers and backhauls.
  • Ability to trace, track, and locate shipments inbound or out bound.
  • Initiate schedules and correspondences with drivers, all of operations, vendors, and buyers.
  • Willingness to learn and advance as the job may expand.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Communicate with all levels of the business, displaying trust and competency at all times.
