Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The following are the functions essential to performing this job
- Assist the Lead Instructor in preparing and delivering lesson plans and activities for the group.
- Help supervise and engage students during lessons, outdoor activities, and special events.
- Provide individual or small group support to students needing additional assistance.
- Help maintain classroom organization and assist with materials and supplies.
- Ensure a safe and positive classroom environment, addressing any issues or conflicts among students.
- Encourage participation and foster positive social interactions among children.
- Assist with setting up, cleaning up, and organizing before and after activities.
- Support the monitoring of students during Lunch Bunch, and outdoor play.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, as required.
- Maintain effective communication with students, and program staff.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the program.
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods of time.
- Comfort with outdoor activities, including some physical activity.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Prior experience working with children in a group setting, preferably in educational or recreational programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with youth in a positive manner.
- Previous experience working with children in a formal or informal setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children
