Position Summary:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness leads the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR), driving data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives across the College. This role includes overseeing research design and analysis, ensuring data accuracy for internal and external reporting, and supporting strategic planning and student learning outcomes assessments. Key duties involve preparing compliance reports, coordinating evaluation activities, and advancing initiatives to improve student access, progression, and success. The Director will also provide leadership, training, and resources to faculty and staff on data-informed practices, assist in developing research proposals, and explore innovative methods for data collection and analysis. Reporting to the Chief Foresight and Decision Support Officer, the Director will play a central role in advancing College priorities and fostering a culture of accountability and evidence-based improvement across the institution. The Director must also work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse College community and use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Lead the College’s Office of Planning, Assessment and Institutional Research (OPAIR) team to design, conduct and analyze data for qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
2. Support and facilitate the College’s planning to include end of year reporting and assessment.
3. Serve as the lead team member for College initiatives related to collecting, analyzing, and sharing data regarding students’ access, progression, and success.
4. Direct evaluation activities related to measuring institutional effectiveness and lead the coordination of the College’s environmental scanning to support strategic planning research projects.
5. Provide data insights to inform college leadership and ensure data accuracy for internal and external reporting.
6. Support the College’s strategic planning and institutional effectiveness processes, support student learning outcomes assessments, coordinate and prepare external reports for federal, state, Middle States and local agencies as required.
7. Shepherd efforts to assist faculty and staff members in developing research proposals and conducting research projects.
8. Prepare the College Performance Accountability Report and the annual College Institutional Effectiveness Reports.
9. Provide leadership, training, and resources to faculty and staff on data-informed practices and institutional improvement.
10. Explore and implement new methods or technologies for data collection, analysis, and visualization.
11. Work to advance a wide range of initiatives and programs for the Chief Foresight and Decision Support Officer in support of College priorities.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s degree
2. Five (5) years of work experience related to data generation, data analysis, and writing research reports
3. Experience working in institutional research in an educational setting
4. Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience

1. Earned Doctorate degree
2. Experience using data visualization software to create data dashboards
3. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
4. Experience synthesizing data to produce clear and concise research reports and technical documents
5. Ability to communicate complex data analyses to diverse audiences
6. Experience using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)
7. Experience using relational databases
8. Strong organization and time management skills
