As the first point of contact during emergencies, you will play a critical role in keeping our community safe by providing calm, clear, and accurate communication during high-pressure situations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
What You’ll Do: Key ResponsibilitiesAs a PSC Dispatcher, you will: Serve as the primary point of contact for all 911 emergency and non-emergency calls in Frederick County.Quickly assess the nature of calls, determine priorities, and dispatch police, fire, or emergency medical services.Provide pre-arrival safety instructions to callers during life-threatening situations.Maintain clear and concise communication with public safety responders via radio.Monitor and track emergency personnel and resources using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.Access and interpret information from state and national databases to assist responders.Work collaboratively with other agencies, citizens, and businesses to coordinate emergency response efforts.
