Qualifications
- Master's degree in school administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the secondary level.
- Interscholastic athletic coaching experience; head coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to assist in organizing a total sports program and other student activities.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work successfully with all categories of employees and the public.

- Coordinate and schedule the athletic, student activities, school building rental calendars.
- Develop athletic team schedules.
- Prepare and distribute interscholastic contracts with competing schools.
- Coordinate the preparation for and operation of all events including securing necessary personnel (i.e., ticket sellers, security police, custodians, public address announcer, physicians, rescue squad, and game officials), arranging transportation, preparing facilities, coordinating concessions and planning traffic and crowd control.
- Familiar with Northwestern District Handbook and represent the school at scheduled meetings of athletic directors at the district, regional, and state levels.
- Maintain a record of student award winners and coordinate the student recognition program.
- Serve on faculty committees as directed by the principal or designee.
- Determine student eligibility for Virginia High School League sanctioned athletic and non-athletic activities and prepare and distribute master eligibility lists for each team and activity.
- Make arrangements for annual mass physical examinations for student-athletes.
- Process required insurance forms.
- Coordinate and supervise the interscholastic athletic program.
- Conduct meetings with coaches to explain policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Evaluate all coaches and report to the principal.
- Interview and prepare recommendations for coaching vacancies.
- Coordinate and supervise the co-curricular student activities program.
- Coordinate and supervise the student activities club program.
- Conduct meetings with sponsors to explain policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Evaluate all sponsors and report to the principal.
- Serve as the liaison between the principal and the booster groups.
- Prepare athletic department budgets and oversee the allocation and disbursement of athletic funds.
- Coordinate with the principal the schedule for fundraising.
- Develop and update with coaches and sponsors a Coaches/Sponsors Handbook for expectations.
- Inspect athletic equipment for safety.
- Prepare and update inventories for all athletic uniforms and equipment.
- Meet with head coaches after each session to determine new and replacement equipment needs.
- Review team uniform needs and coordinate the designing, bidding, and ordering of new uniforms.
- Serve as the liaison between the principal and representatives of the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department.
