What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Behavior Assistant (Division Wide) position at Frederick County Public Schools?
Qualifications:

Willing to attain and maintain a current Registered Behavior Technician certification through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).

Extensive knowledge and understanding of concepts of Behavior Analysis and PBIS.

Demonstrate leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, and evaluation).

Possess the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, educators, administration, etc.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, administrators, and support staff).

Impeccable time-management skills and adhere to scheduled appointments with supervisor, BIP/IEP meetings, etc.

Adhere to all ethical guidelines outlined by the BACB.

Willing to enroll, be currently enrolled or have already completed the 40 hour Registered Behavior Technician training. Preference is given to those who have already completed the training.

Completion of the Safety-Care Behavior Safety Training program is preferred.
- Willing to work with all populations (age, program, varying disabilities, etc.)

Position requires standing/walking, sitting, lifting to 30 lbs., repetitive hand movements (including simple grasping, pushing/pulling, fine manipulation), bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Candidates must be able to bend and move at a fast rate in the event that physical interventions are necessary.
Pay Rate:
Instructional Assistant Grade C2b Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Assignment:
Full time / 10 months / 183 days

This position is available immediately. Start date will be determined at time of offer.
