More about Frederick Flying Cows
The BasketballLeague (TBL), www.thebasketballleague.net,  is a six (6) year old league playing throughout North America. In the Spring of 2023, there are 49 teams in the league, with 46 teams in the USA in small to medium-sized markets and another three (3) teams in Canada. The league continues to grow, with a goal of having sixty-four (64) teams in the USA and twenty-four (24) teams in Canada. Frederick Flying Cows is one of about a half-dozen new teams that joined the TBL in 2024. The league regular season runs twenty-four (24) games long from March – May, with 12 home and 12 away games. Playoffs are in June. The league is positioning itself as an alternative option for players who might be playing in professional leagues overseas and are hoping to build their careers towards playing against the highest possible competition. The TBL play is high quality – just a notch below the level of the NBA G-league. The league has already had a few players make it to the NBA.

We are a well-prepared group with the goal of building a championship-quality organization! We believe there are three (3) key legs of the stool required to build a quality franchise.
  • We need to create and manage a high-quality entertainment product that is appealing to a broad age range. We want TBL basketball home games to be a high-quality, fun, and entertaining event that people, both basketball fans and non-basketball fans, will enjoy.
  • We need to put together an excellent basketball team and basketball organization. To this end, we are interviewing head coaches now and hope to hire someone by June of this year so that they will have a full year to build and plan a team.
  • We need to build a community organization that is invested in Frederick County. Our goal is for TBL basketball, over time, to be part of the fabric of the community and a team that the people of Frederick are proud of.

As we think about putting together our team, we have broken the operation down into four (3) areas of focus: Basketball Operations, Business Operations, Sales & Marketing. We are looking for interns to assist in all areas of the business. Building a team and organization from scratch will be both demanding and rewarding.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with energy, drive, and a positive attitude who is indefatigable and will gain great satisfaction from being a part of creating something new.
