We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring that all materials and services are procured efficiently and cost-effectively. This role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier management expertise, and a thorough understanding of supply chain dynamics. The Buyer will play a critical role in maintaining inventory levels, optimizing procurement processes, and fostering positive relationships with suppliers.
Duties
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Oversee supplier management, ensuring compliance with contract terms and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate timely delivery of goods and services.
- Implement category management strategies to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs based on demand analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement management or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar procurement software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
- Experience in contract management and supplier relationship management is preferred.
- Knowledge of category management practices is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
