Senior Principal Software Engineer

Hybrid Work Model – Ideally San Francisco Bay Area, with 1 afternoon a week in Napa.

Competitive Compensation – $180,000 - $200,000.

We’re looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer to drive product-led growth, scale AI initiatives, and architect the future of a platform that’s empowering millions worldwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead & Innovate – Guide a world-class engineering team, delivering fast, scalable solutions to drive growth.
  • Architect & Build – Design and optimize both frontend (Next.js, React Query) and backend (AWS Amplify, GraphQL) for high-performance user experiences.
  • Leverage AI & Emerging Tech – Integrate AI / ML and automation to drive efficiency and personalization.
  • Collaborate & Shape Strategy – Work closely with product managers, designers, and executives to shape the platform’s future.
  • Mentor & Scale – Champion clean code, scalable architecture, and innovative problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Full-Stack Mastery – 8 years of experience with Next.js, React Query, AWS Amplify, GraphQL.
  • Startup DNA – 7 years in SaaS, especially in fast-scaling environments.
  • AI Enthusiast – Hands-on experience or strong understanding of AI / ML integration in scalable applications.
  • Mentorship Mindset – You don’t just code—you coach and elevate those around you.
  • Big Thinker, Detail Doer – You see the big picture and execute flawlessly.
  • Growth-Oriented – You thrive in a high-performance, innovative culture.
