Job Description
The Seasonal Merchandise Assistant will support the retail operations for the Frederick Keys during the 2025 season. This role involves managing merchandise sales, maintaining inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service on gamedays. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail or customer service
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking and cleaning
- Proficient in using point of sale systems or a quick learner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Game Day Responsibilities
- Pre-game: Arrive 2 hours prior to game time to prepare for retail operations.
- Store Setup
- Backfill inventory and prepare points of sale.
- Unlock store windows and doors and check drawer banks for change.
- Ensure store is ready for customer service.
- Customer Service & Sales
- Manage point of sale (POS) system and assist customers with purchases
- Manage store staff to ensure proper customer service and loss prevention strategies
- End of Game (Post-game)
- Return items on concourse to merchandise store
- Lock store doors and windows and turn off lights.
- Perform daily drawer count on POS and balance cash.
- Bring cash to Box Office Manager or Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager for bank deposit.
- Clean and vacuum the store
Non-Game Day Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Receive and count incoming merchandise and applying SKU stickers as necessary.
- Stocking: Backfill floor inventory
- Reporting: Report low-stock or out-of-stock items to the VP of Marketing and Merchandise and/or Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager for reordering.
