The Frederick National Laboratory is operated by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Directorate of Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc., located in Frederick, Maryland, is responsible for developing and administering programs that support the recruitment, compensation, development, and performance assessment of the personnel required by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. to successfully operate the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research.
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Human Resources Generalist will have a unique opportunity to work to imbed the core values and employee value proposition into all communications and programs and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Processing requisition requests and closures
- Assisting programs with temporary agency requests and invoices
- Onboarding and offboarding Trainees and Emeritus staff
- Assisting the Talent Acquisition team with job advertisements and career fair registrations
- Processing travel requests, communications, and reimbursements for interview candidates
- Processing relocation
- Validating data
- Managing files
- Being the point of contact for Human Resources purchases
- Ensuring Leidos Biomedical stays current with labor law posters
- Providing support to Human Resources team members on special projects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work in the office in Frederick, MD and at least one day a week or more as needed
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to understand, navigate, and adhere to administrative policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and employee privacy
- Ability to maintain professional and approachable demeanor to effectively handle employee inquiries and maintain good employee relations
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced Human Resources Department
- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking Systems, Human Resources Management Systems, and Human Resources Information Systems (Cornerstone and/or Costpoint would be a plus)
- Understanding of State, Federal and Office of Federal Contract Compliance(OFCCP) regulations
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
