Press Room Operator

The Press Room Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of printing presses to produce high-quality print publications. This role involves ensuring that all printing processes run smoothly, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Press Operation:
• Set up and operate printing presses for daily production.
• Monitor print quality throughout the production process and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure proper ink and paper supplies are available and loaded correctly.
• Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment.
• Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor and assist in repairs as needed.
• Quality Control:
• Conduct quality checks to ensure print standards are met.
• Collaborate with the editorial and production teams to address any quality concerns.
• Safety Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety training and adhere to OSHA regulations.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other press room staff to coordinate production schedules.
• Assist in training new operators and team members.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities and any issues encountered.
• Report daily production statistics to management.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing preferred.
• Previous experience as a press operator or in a related field is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Salary

• Starting $41K depending on experience.
