The Advanced Practice Provider ("APP") is a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who works closely with and is supervised by the physicians in the Care Team. APPs are expected to have the highest standards for clinical capability, professional education, quality improvement and overall patient care. The position requires a current Maryland License, Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Maryland CDS and DEA certificate.
This position would be specifically for our After Hours Clinic. The hours of operation for FPCA's After Hours Clinic is Monday-Friday 5:30 PM - 8 PM and Saturday-Sunday 8 AM - 4 PM.
Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Job Duties Include:
- Assessing patients independently, in collaboration with the supervising physician
- Assist in acute and chronic care management of patients
- Perform history and physical assessments
- Perform minor procedures
- Order and manage labs and radiographic findings
- Prescribe medications for patients
- Provide education to patients
- Assist in the establishment and accomplishment of practice goals and objectives
- Taking patient vital signs to be reported to your supervising provider
