The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical operational liaison between units and the DON, ADON, medical director, and other nursing staff. He / she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily Monday-Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and / or On-Call.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse ( RN) Unit Manager :
Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality careWork with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or proceduresMaintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices.Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPN’s and GNA’s on staffPerform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessaryCollaborates with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverageAssess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients / residentsMaintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their familiesMonitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat.Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition.Investigates patient / family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution.Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager :
Current RN license in the state of MarylandBLS / CPR certificationIn-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelinesResponsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skillsExperience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home settingFrederick Villa Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer that promotes a drug-free workplace.
