**This is a seasonal position. The employment term is May 23-August 15, 2025**
Position Summary:
The Summer Program Driver is an integral part of our Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals are
boxed at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank (FRFB) and transported to specific sites daily. T Benefits
will not be offered to staff holding this position. This position’s work schedule requires evenings and
possibly Saturday. May 26, June 19 and July 4 are days off without pay.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with FRFB Children’s Programs Coordinator, Distribution Processes
deliver daily meals.
- Maintain proper meal temperatures throughout the delivery process.
- Unload boxed meals and bags at site. Report to each site supervisor to confirm proper meal
- Return to site to collect undistributed meals and coolers. Or, stay on site and serve as the site
- Ensure that the vehicles, supplies, and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and are
- Return accurate daily paper logs to the Children's Programs Coordinator upon return to the
- Handle site distribution complaints, suggestions, and requests. Deal effectively with a variety of
Children' s Program Coordinator.

- Valid Virginia driver's license. Driving record must be submitted
- Class B license preferred
- Ability to drive a box truck or van
- Bilingual capabilities (English and Spanish) preferred
- 2 years driving experience
- Must be 21
- General logistic knowledge of the City of Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties

Working Conditions: This position is often required to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures, hot &
humid summers. While this position’s responsibilities are primarily performed in an outdoor setting, the
employee may periodically need to withstand long workdays supporting the FRFB’s special events, food
drives, and programs. This position will require the employee to work on evenings and Saturdays.
