Job Description
The State University of New York at Fredonia invites applications for one of two part-time, FTE 25% Graduate Assistant positions in Music Education in the School of Music. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis in accordance with campus and department budget and policy. The School of Music's numerous dedicated faculty and staff members provide students with
engaging and meaningful study, teaching practice, and research opportunities for educators. We offer the Bachelor of Music - Music Education at the undergraduate level, and the Master of Music - Music Education and Master of Music - Music Education Studies degrees at the graduate level. The Master of Music - Music Education degree is approved for New York state's
professional level teaching certification. The Master of Music - Music Education Studies degree serves students from outside New York state by offering Fredonia's outstanding music education graduate program without concomitant New York state certification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Each graduate assistantship provides a Fredonia graduate student the opportunity to gain teaching experience by providing support for classes in Fredonia's undergraduate music education program. Depending on the graduate assistant's qualifications, the candidate may be asked to assist in general music courses and field work.
Duties include :
Work responsibilities will reflect approximately 10 hours each week of each semester of the assistantship. This graduate assistantship is offered for the - academic year and may be available for a second year based on the candidate's success with the assistantship and with graduate coursework. Candidates who are selected for and accept the assistantship will receive an annual stipend of $3, and a tuition waiver for 4.5 credits in-state tuition each semester as GA.
