Overview:
We are seeking a mid-level attorney to join our expanding Energy Department in Des Moines. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge matters in the renewable energy, electric power, transmission, pipeline, advanced biofuels, and emerging technology sectors. The attorney will support the team in a variety of tasks, including legal research, drafting permitting applications, motion practice, regulatory filings, litigation, and appearing before county boards, administrative agencies, and courts. Successful candidates will have 4-9 years experience with an interest in and commitment to growing an energy practice at a leading law firm, with demonstrated experience or interest in utilities regulatory law, infrastructure, permitting, real estate, administrative law, zoning, or related litigation.
- 4-9 years of related legal experience
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
- Strong academic background
- J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
- Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to become admitted in Iowa
