Overview:
We are seeking a Trust Accountant to support our Finance Department. This role is crucial in assisting with the bookkeeping operation of pooled trust accounts. The ideal candidate will provide timely and courteous service to business partners and help the department adapt to the firm’s deliverables and agenda.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Organize, track, and respond to trust accounting inbox communications while building and maintaining professional relationships with attorneys and their staff.
- Perform bookkeeping functions for trust account activity, including monthly reconciliations for supervisory and compliance review.
- Organize, record, and issue closing settlements, and assist with monitoring bank accounts for recording needs on trust deposits.
- Aggregate W-9’s for vendor set up workflow and evaluate 1099 tax implications on general disbursements.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding checks flagged in bank reconciliations and assist in filing unclaimed property.
- Print checks, acquire attorney signatures, and retain signed check scans for record-keeping requirements.
- Initiate banking wires and retain wire confirmations for record-keeping.
- Prepare letters to notify clients when trust money is used for earned fee invoices.
- Coordinate with billing staff on client ledger balances and review and monitor internal controls in trust processes.
Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- 4-year degree, preferably related to accounting or finance.
- Experience with reconciliation and internal controls.
- Ability to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.

The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000. Compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
