Our three-doctor, American Animal Hospital Association ("AAHA")-accredited, small animal practice located in Canton, Georgia is looking for a full-time veterinary assistant to care for our patients and assist our veterinarians. You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and peace of mind to the families who love them. A positive attitude, team-oriented work habits and a love for animals is essential. Previous veterinary assistant experience is required, pursuit of a registered veterinary technician program is preferred but not required. Responsibilities
- Clean examination tables and rooms and maintain medical equipment
- Master vaccine protocols and administration
- Perform both jugular and cephalic venipuncture to collect blood samples
- Administer medication as prescribed by Veterinarians
- Fill medications in the pharmacy as prescribed by Veterinarians
- Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Veterinarian
- Update medical records
- Keep accurate records and logs
- Effectively and thoroughly review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients
