Position Description :
Free Market Health (FMH) is seeking an experienced specialty drug pricing subject matter expert. This is a leadership role that brings pricing expertise to enhance our market competitiveness and to accurately trend specialty drug spend. This role requires attention to detail, strong business acumen, expert data analysis skills and strong specialty drug expertise (at the drug level) to ensure FMH maintains an industry-leading model for specialty drug management. The role requires initiative, independence, ability to work in a dynamic environment, and the ability to perform a wide variety of duties.
Position Responsibilities :
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for specialty drug pricing.
Provide strategic pricing guidance for internal partners and clients to support underwriting, analytics, sales , pharmacy collaborations and prospective modeling.
Develop, improve and / or maintain the process to update, review and implement new price points by drug.
Research and evaluate evolution of price points on a routine basis as well as respond to ad-hoc requests for pricing review.
Create, maintain, edit and manage version control of NDC11 level baseline price lists used for internal and external reporting.
Support Sales and Business Development in consultative efforts with prospective customers / clients.
Develop intimate knowledge of business model and customer needs / nuances that can be leveraged in analytical value delivery.
Collaborate / influence across teams to achieve shared results on behalf of our clients.
Contribute to scalability of overall analytical solutions.
Proactively propose strategies to enhance the value offered by FMH.
Actively leverage experience, knowledge, and critical thinking to contribute to the execution of FMH's business strategy.
Serve as an analytical consultant with our customers with respect to opportunity assessment and outcomes measurement.
Leverage applied analytical techniques to address customer problem statements and deliver meaningful, scalable solutions.
Analyze medical / pharmacy claims data to identify trends, pinpoint issues / areas for improvement, and recommend solutions and alternatives.
Serve as a requirements conduit for customer needs to inform the ongoing design of analytical or other systems.
Summarize and synthesize data and information from multiple sources, interpret and translate findings into meaningful information and actionable results.
Execute analyses and prepare presentations on program performance including operational, clinical, and economic subject areas.
Monitor changes related to healthcare industry / data to identify required enhancements for analytic approaches.
Position Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in analytics or related field.
8 years of experience working in an analytical capacity within the specialty pharmacy and / or pharmacy benefit management industry.
Experience contracting with pharmacy benefit managers particularly around definitions, pricing and guarantees.
Thorough understanding of the specialty drug marketplace including drug-level discounts, anticipated brand to generic / biosimilar introductions, and expected market share shifts by therapeutic class over time.
Thorough understanding of limited distribution drugs (LDDs) including market availability and competitive discount by drug, by LDD pharmacy.
Familiar with market resources in the specialty drug industry.
Comfort collaborating and consulting with various internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Strong project management and technical skills to develop, maintain and adhere to policies and procedures related to the maintenance of pricing lists.
Ability to collaborate across teams in pursuit of common goals.
Expertise in developing complex, legible, and efficient scripts and queries in SQL. Experience with various analytical toolsets and multiple SQL dialects preferred. Technology adaptable.
Advanced analytic skills with the ability to analyze and interpret large data sets through complex analysis.
Expertise in data visualization and value narrative for various stakeholder groups.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in both technology and business environments.
