Position Summary: The Sales, Marketing, and Innovation Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, overseeing marketing initiatives, and leading product innovation efforts to grow our brand, boost revenue, and ensure our products meet evolving consumer needs. This role requires a balance of creativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on leadership in sales and marketing, with a strong focus on managing a sales budget, maintaining a profitable sales P&L, and implementing structured value chains and stage gates for product development.

Pay: $80,000- $120,000

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management:

  • Develop, implement, and drive sales strategies that align with company objectives and revenue targets.
  • Create, manage, and execute the sales budget, ensuring spending aligns with strategic goals and maximizes ROI.
  • Track and report on the Sales P&L, providing regular updates to leadership on performance, profitability, and corrective measures.
  • Identify and explore new market opportunities, channels, and distribution partnerships.
  • Manage and optimize sales pipelines, including wholesale, retail, and new customer acquisition.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless sales operations and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Manage vendor training days for sales team to educate retail shops
  • Build performance bonuses for team that align with company goals
  • Manage CRM software, set goals, and track progress
  • Coach and train team members, create educational information, and ensure customer satisfaction through verification
  • Marketing and Brand Development:
  • Plan, create, and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, content, email, and event marketing.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activities to enhance brand positioning and product offerings.
  • Oversee brand development efforts, ensuring consistency across marketing materials and platforms.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to design compelling visuals, messaging, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts, making adjustments to maximize reach and ROI.
  • Build and execute marketing campaigns to promote our brand through in store promotions and social media contests.

Innovation, Value Chain, and Product Development:

  • Lead product innovation efforts by identifying emerging trends, customer preferences, and gaps in the current product line.
  • Develop value chains and stage gates for various product categories (e.g., flower, extracts, edibles, topicals) to ensure efficient, quality-controlled development.
  • Collaborate with R&D, cultivation, and processing teams to design, test, and launch new products.
  • Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to inform product innovation and marketing strategies.
  • Partner with the sales team to test new products in the market, collecting feedback for product improvement.
  • Implement stage-gate checkpoints, overseeing each phase from concept approval, formulation, production, quality control, packaging, distribution, to post-launch evaluation.

Financial and Budgetary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation and management of a sales budget to ensure effective allocation of resources.
  • Monitor and maintain a healthy Sales P&L, with a focus on increasing profit margins, controlling costs, and meeting sales targets.
  • Develop forecasts, track spending, and adjust plans as necessary to align with company financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, and product development, preferably within the cannabis or CPG industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies with budget and P&L accountability.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM systems).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making in a collaborative environment.
  • Analytical skills with a proactive approach to budget and financial management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
