Description
The College of Business at Freed-Hardeman University invites applications for adjunct instructors in accounting, business analytics, finance, financial planning, healthcare management, strategic management, marketing, or sport administration beginning in August 2022. Adjunct instructors are needed to teach online as well as traditional, face-to-face courses. The College of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and offers undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in accounting, business analytics, finance, management, marketing, and sport administration in addition to a Master of Business Administration (MBA), MBA in Healthcare Management, and Master of Science in Accountancy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses on an as-needed basis.
- Maintain communication with enrolled students during the contractual period.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned curriculum.
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to the course, the discipline’s knowledge and practice.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with other faculty members and students.
- Participate in student recruitment and program promotion, as requested.
- Participate in program, department, college, or faculty meetings, as requested.
- Abide by University policies governing behavior and in fulfillment of position and contract requirements.
- Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Requirements
- An active member in good standing of the churches of Christ.
- An earned doctorate in a business discipline with a graduate-level major, minor, or concentration in the field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. ABD applicants who are close to degree completion will be considered.
- Applicants with a master’s degree in business and significant professional experience and/or professional certification, credentialing, or licensure will be considered.
- A demonstrated history, competence in, and commitment to quality teaching of business courses at the undergraduate and graduate level is preferred.
- Experience delivering courses in online and classroom formats that utilize current technology and pedagogies is preferred.
- Demonstrated professional experience in business or industry where the candidate has employed critical thinking is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to consistently and reliably deliver course content via the Internet.
